1. Who we are

SketchStreets is based at Waterford, Ireland. For any question about this policy or your data, contact privacy@sketchstreets.com.

2. What we collect

We collect only what is needed to generate your sketch, take payment, and fulfil your order:

  • The postcode, Eircode, zip code, or address you enter, used to look up a Street View image
  • Any photo you upload of a property
  • The generated sketch image and an optional short handwritten-style message you add to it
  • Feedback or a quality rating you submit about a sketch
  • Your email address, provided by Stripe when you pay for a digital download
  • Your name, delivery address, phone number, and email, if you order a framed print
  • Payment confirmation details from Stripe, such as a payment reference and amount. We never receive or store your full card number; card details are entered directly into Stripe's own checkout page
  • Basic technical data such as your IP address and request timestamps, used only for rate-limiting and abuse prevention

3. Why we use it, and our legal basis

We process this data to perform the contract we enter into with you when you request a sketch, buy a download, or order a print: generating and storing your preview, taking payment, arranging delivery, and sending order-related emails.

We also process limited technical data (IP address, request rate) under our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and preventing abuse, and we review generation quality internally (image, feedback, review status) under our legitimate interest in improving the service. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell your data.

4. Who we share it with

We share the minimum data needed with the following processors so the service can work:

  • Google (Street View Static API and Gemini API) — receives the address or uploaded photo to look up an image and generate the sketch
  • Google Analytics — receives usage data (pages viewed, general location, device type) to help us understand how the site is used
  • Stripe — processes payment and provides us with a payment reference, amount, and the email address you check out with. We do not see your card details
  • Printful — receives the finished artwork and your delivery name, address, and phone number to print and ship a framed order
  • Resend — sends transactional emails: your download link, a print order confirmation, and shipment tracking

5. International transfers

Google, Stripe, Printful, and Resend may process data outside Ireland and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect your data to a standard equivalent to EU law.

6. Cookies

SketchStreets itself sets a cookie only for admin sign-in, which is strictly necessary and not set for ordinary visitors or customers.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) in your browser to distinguish visitors and measure site usage. These cookies are not set until you accept them in the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and this data is processed by Google as described in Google's privacy policy.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer, which reopens the banner.

When you pay, Stripe's checkout page may set its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment security. These are set and controlled by Stripe, not by us, and are covered by Stripe's own privacy policy.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep generation, order, and payment records for as long as needed to handle your order, respond to support requests, and meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations, generally up to 6 years after your last order. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

Uploaded photos and generated sketches are stored only to deliver your order and are not used for any other purpose or shared beyond the processors listed above.

8. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@sketchstreets.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie) if you believe we have not handled your data properly.

9. Children

SketchStreets is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
