We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

• Postal codes and addresses — entered by you to generate a sketch. These are used solely to retrieve a Street View image and are stored alongside the generated sketch image in our database.
• Uploaded photos — if you use the photo upload feature, your image is stored securely in our cloud storage and used only to generate your sketch.
• Contact form submissions — if you contact us via the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message in order to respond to you.
• Analytics data — with your consent, we collect anonymised usage data (pages visited, session duration, country) via Umami Analytics. No personal identifiers are stored.

We use a small number of cookies to operate the site and, with your consent, to measure site traffic.

• Session cookie — used to maintain your login session if you sign in. This is strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of.
• Cookie consent flag — a localStorage entry that records whether you have accepted or declined analytics cookies.
• Analytics cookies — set only after you accept cookies. Used by Umami Analytics to count page views and sessions anonymously.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or by clicking "Manage Preferences" in the cookie banner.

We use the data we collect to provide and improve the StreetSketch service, to respond to your enquiries, and — with your consent — to understand how the site is used. We do not use your data for advertising or automated profiling.

We do not sell your data to any third party. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the service:

• Google Maps / Street View — your postal code is sent to Google's API to retrieve a street-level image. Google's own privacy policy applies.
• AI image generation service — your Street View image or uploaded photo is sent to an AI service to generate the pencil sketch. Images are not used to train AI models.
• Cloud storage — generated sketches and uploaded photos are stored in secure cloud object storage.

Generated sketches are retained in our database to power the "Recent Sketches" gallery. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing [email protected].

Under GDPR and applicable data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
